This is a before and after image of a previously long neglected border now prepared for new planting. The magnolia Stelata flowering in the right hand picture is the shrub on the left in the first image.

New borders are best deeply dug and prepared with the soil conditioners appropriate for the site and the plants intended for it. You only get the opportunity to prepare the ground once and to get the best results its worth doing it well. Some new borders and some of the 'results' are shown below.

This is a before and after image of beach garden that needed a lot of clearance before we could begin. The hole in the middle is a fire pit.
